The RHS Class of 2011 SAT scores were strong compared to national and state averages, but Ridgefield’s average scores were at or near the bottom of the group of seven suburban Fairfield County high schools the state compares Ridgefield to — District Reference Group A or “DRG-A.” On the math SAT, the seven school range for the DRG was 555 to 617, with Ridgefield sixth at 580. The DRG-A average was 593. On the SAT’s critical reading exam, the DRG-A range was 547 to 598, with Ridgefield seventh at 570. The DRG average was 578. On the writing SAT, the DRG range was 563 to 610, with Ridgefield sixth at 580.

The total average scores of 1,730 (out of a possible 2,400) for Ridgefield ranked it sixth behind Darien (1,810), Wilton (1805), New Canaan (1,794), Westport, (1,775), Weston (1,767) and ahead of Region 9 (Easton-Redding school district at 1,665).
